On Tuesday 5th March the Library will host a presentation from Longfield, explaining the many FREE services they offer. Longfield supports anyone over the age of 18 with progressive life-limiting conditions, such as cancer, respiratory disease, and neurological diseases (including Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, MND, MS and, depending on support needs, early to mid-stage dementia). People looking for support must be residents of Gloucestershire or have a GP registered in Gloucestershire. Longfield also run many classes and you can learn about them in this 45 minute talk – this talk is free and begins at 11am.

 

 

Young local artist Lauren Smith will be displaying her artwork in the library from November 28th to December 12th. The abstract pieces of art on canvas will be available for the public to buy, with a 5% contribution from the sales going to the library.

 

Berkeley Books Community Library Calendar competition 2023

‘The beautiful Vale of Berkeley’

Local photographers entered our competition sending in views on the theme of ‘The beautiful Vale of Berkeley’ and the winning entries have been used in our 2024 calendar which are now on sale in the library and shops around the town. The price is £10 and all profits go to the library.

Make and Mend Clinic
Cotswold Community Mens shed are starting a Make and Mend Clinic based here in the Library on the 12th August,10.30am-11.30am held once a month, on the second Saturday. The Mens Shed volunteers will repair broken items where possible and falls within their skills range. New materials would be at cost, labour will be free, but donations are gratefully excepted. Items they can help with include small electricals, tools, any wooden items or bicycles. Items of high tech such as computers, washing/drying machines, tvs and audio they are unable to do.

After successful vaccination clinics were run at the Library, Berkeley Books Community Library are pleased to announce that NHS Gloucester will also be running two Health Check Clinics in the library, on Tuesday 11th July 11am-3pm and Tuesday 1st August 11am-3pm.

Here you will be able to have a blood pressure check and find out about local services. No appointment necessary

QUIZ NIGHT

The recent quiz night was a great success and we will be holding another shortly.

Job Club

Another very successful meeting of the History Group in June. The numbers keep growing!

 A very successful children’s’ event on the Tuesday morning before Christmas, with them making Christmas decorations with some expert help! Great fun all round.
