Exciting Library Events for Children this summer in Berkeley!

If you have Primary School age children then visit your local Berkeley Community Library, and as well as helping keep a library open for the Berkeley Area, your child can enjoy exciting events throughout the summer holidays. The Summer Reading Challenge is running again, where children visit, borrow books and are given incentives of stickers etc. to keep reading in the holidays. If they complete the challenge (borrow and read at least 6 books over 3 visits) they receive a certificate and medal. Free to participate – children just need their own library card and be aged 4 – 11.

Thanks to a kind donation by a local Parish Council, we have also been able to engage professional entertainment too:

On Wednesday August 7th 11am to 12 noon we welcome Eco Animal Encounters to the Library. Children can meet hold, and learn about various bugs and reptiles.

Monday 19th August 11am – 12 noon Colin Dymond, Magician & Ventriloquist presents his fun show.

Both events are for over 4 year olds, up to 12 years old. Tickets are LIMITED and only available IN ADVANCE from Berkeley Community Library at a cost of £1 per child per event. Ticket sales open July 12th.

More activities are being arranged for the summer holidays– check out our website nearer the time

Our opening hours are: Tuesdays & Fridays 10.30 – 4.30; Saturdays 9.30 – 12.30.

We hold regular events, so please keep an eye on this page to see what is coming up.
