Clubs & Activities
As well as functioning as a Library the following activities are currently being enjoyed by members of the Berkeley Community.
Childrens’ Activities
We are arranging a number of activities for children in the holiday periods. Look under “News and Events” for these during the holiday periods.

- CV writing
- Interview techniques
- Practice interviews
- How to find jobs
- Delivery of training for business delivered at Stroud Technical College.

Well Being
- Book Prescription Service
- Partnership with local Health Centre. Books on prescription etc.
- Refreshed large print books and spoken word tapes
- Gardening Club – meets once per month. Collaborating with local Primary School and Scout Group to grow vegetables for consumption.
- Crochet Club – Tuesday mornings (drop in).
- Art Club – Weekly on Thursdays.
- Drop in for a coffee and read the newspapers.
- Summer Reading Challenge. Three local Primary Schools take part.
- Young Explorers – After School Club.
- Book Club – In association with local schools.
- Children’s Area – which supplies activities for children during the year, with additional themed activities during the school holidays.
- Brownie’s reading badge and use of library
- Rainbow’s reading badge and use of library
- Cub Scout’s reading badge and use of library
- Volunteer working in library as a project for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
- The Home Learning association, which caters for children who cannot attend school but still need to be taught, is using the library to deliver teaching to these children.


- Free WiFi connection.
- Free use of Family History software. (2 packages available)- 2 hour slots
- Free use of computers.
- On-line banking support.
- On-line employment search.
- Website, which also has links to local interests, is used to advertise library events and activities.
- AV equipment available to speakers and others giving presentations.
- Copier A4/A3 black and white and colour available. A4/A3 laminating also available
- We have a number of 7” Kindle Fires that can be borrowed for the computer club sessions.
